There’s nothing better than soaking up the May Bank Holiday sunshine, cold beverage in hand, listening to the soft, smooth melody of jazz. Last week, Cheltenham town saw the triumphant return of the Cheltenham Jazz Festival after a two-year hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
In a landmark year, which celebrated the festival’s 25th anniversary, Team Tarren was thrilled to have been asked to work alongside the Cheltenham Festival’s team once again to run the site operations and production for the event.
Gregory Porter, Paloma Faith, Emeli Sande, James Bay, Jamie Cullum and Tom Odell were just a some of the talented performers and artists that took the stage over the 6-day event, which also included a BBC Concert Orchestra showcase, which was broadcast across radio and television.
As in previous years, Tarren managed the site build for the event, constructing the signature Henry Weston’s Big Top and managed the booking of all production contractors. Our team also provided the festival with full technical artist advancing as well as artist liaison services, through team member Lauren Geary.
Event Furniture by Tarren furnished many areas of the festival, including the Henry Weston’s VIP Area and Artist Dressing Rooms, complete with our Illuminated make-up mirrors, Chesterfield sofas and Dressing Room Packages. Our furniture was also used to jazz up (pun intended) several other areas around the festival, such as the Jazz Arena Backstage Area, Free Stage, Family Stage and Festival Bar.
In addition to this, we also provided onsite crew for the duration of the build and break, and themed and dressed the public areas of Montpellier Gardens to create a bright and colourful atmosphere for attendees to enjoy the event amongst, including colourful bunting, giant ‘Jazz’ photo opportunity letters, and the festival’s signature Welcome Arch.
